This Peetha was founded by Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Mahaswamiji, Sometime in 10th century A.D., at Suttur, a small village in Mysore District.
About the management
J.S.S. Mahavidyapeetha (JSSMVP) came into being in 1954.
Jagadguru Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji is the present and 24th pontiff of Suttur Math and President of JSSMVP since December 1986.
